A life-altering gunshot wound changed Patrick’s life while he was serving as a U.S. Marine infantry officer. Nothing could prepare him for the nearly two years of recovery that followed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. That season tested every part of him—his resilience, his identity, and his purpose.

In the months and years that followed, Patrick learned that real strength is not simply about enduring hardship. It is about owning your response, finding purpose in the pain, and using that experience to lead yourself and others through uncertainty.

Patrick rebuilt his life with that philosophy at the center. Now a retired U.S. Marine Captain, he studied at Harvard Kennedy School, The Wharton School, and The Citadel; led Team USA as captain at the 2023 Invictus Games; earned a bronze medal in powerlifting; and summited Mount Kilimanjaro soon afterward.

Today, Patrick is a sought-after resilience keynote speaker for leaders and teams. His signature keynote, Find A Way: How Leaders and Teams Respond When It Matters Most, challenges conventional ideas about resilience and gives audiences practical tools to transform adversity into purposeful action.
